All is well

On the local computer front. for now…at least. But with that done I can look into self improvement. That means the bike. which I need to get fixed. Oh well, that’ll be my personal goal for the next while.

well then…

My riding during the last week was sub par. To say the least! This week hopefully wont be so shockingly cold as last few days were! Weatherman says itll be back to normal in a day or two.

I haven’t been biking a lot lately, largely in part to two influences.

!.)The cold

2.)I’ve been recently very lazy. More than usual. I hate to think it was the covid. I’ve gotten through that relatively unscathed. For which I’m thankful. At least I didn’t get vented!

That seems to be the current outcome for MS + covid. For a dude in his early 40’s who was in great shape up until the great attack. But I suppose only hard work will do that . I’ve certainly got the itch to get back on the bike. It might have to warm up first.

Oh and arch linux is the new Gentoo, Equally as frustrating and without the success. Yet.

Been taking long weekends during cycling

the bug has left for the winter. All ive been getting is the stearnes hills. Good workout. I can make it up if im on the marin, as long as the trail is not washed out. Which it was today. So i ended up walking the exit hill. Yes. Im hanging my head in shame today 🙁

The re-return of biking

should begin tomorrow when my new bike shows up. I’m not terribly proud of it, but its a 29er that works. Is should be building it tomorrow at least.

I really hope the shimano bb is a drop in replacement for the truvative bb. I can’t locate the original at a decent price so I’ll try the trusted shimano in the hopes that it’ll be a direct replacement. It’s supposed to be here on Thursday.

mtb woes

I’m down to my last bike. Well, I’ve also got the fat tire, but it is not snowing outside. See, I got pissed at my 29er, and tore the bottom bracket off. And as a bonus I’ll redo the chain ring (whilst keeping the new stomper peddles). The new parts wont start arriving until October 1st. : ( Until then I guess I’ll keep hitting steans with the single speed. the most dependable bike in my fleet is down for maintenance.

Good thing I checked. The spindle was too short. 110mm vs the 113 it requires. cancelled that order and ordered the right one. One the plus side, it should be here much quicker. by october 1st at the latest.
